Bucket-shaped tea cup with butterfly handle. Hand painted by Celia Thaxter in floral Roman Anemone design. Inscription Reads: Celia Thaxter, 1884. Overglazed.

Given by Celia Thaxter to a guest at the Appledore Hotel, the mother of Mrs. Alice White. Mrs. White bequeathed the china to Miss Fay Newland. Donated by Miss FAy Newland in 1972.

Anemone design probably inspired by Celia and Oscar's 1880-1881 trip to Europe.
