Photo of Bobby Wharem circa 1950's. Bobby worked on the Isles of Shoals from 1946 – 1962, 17 years. He worked as the chief engineer and also as the winter keeper, alone on the island all winter. Taken from Jean Caldwell's scrapbook, who was Pelican staff from 1949-1954. She was also a housekeeper and operated the bookstore in the 1980's. Inscription on bottom of photograph reads Bobby. Caption on back reads Bob Wharem.
